Heat and acrid smoke ruined the weekend for those living in Moscow and the Moscow Region

The Russian capital has been engulfed in acrid smoke since Friday. Wildfires have been raging across Central Russia for the past two weeks as a result of an extreme heat wave and drought. Almost 2,000 houses have burnt down and over 3,500 people have been left homeless. Most photos were sent by RIA Novosti readers.
