A delegation of Indian businessmen headed by country's Foreign Minister Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna will pay an official three-day visit to oil-rich Kazakhstan starting Tuesday, a spokesman for the foreign ministry said.

Vishnu Prakash said that Minister Krishna is expected to meet with his Kazakh counterpart Kanat Saudabayev for talks on large-scale projects, including a possible joint exploration of the Satpayev oil field in the Caspian Sea, Kazakhstan.

"This [the Satpayev oil field] is one of the key issues in our bilateral relations," the Indian diplomat said.

He added that the delegation of influential Indian businessmen, which include representatives from Tata Motors, Apollo chain of private hospitals, ONGC state oil giant, Punj Lloyd construction company and others, are expected to sign a number of bilateral agreements with their Kazakh partners.

Kazakhstan, he said, "is one of the most important countries in the region," having added that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited India in 2009 and was the main guest at the Independence Day's annual parade.
