BUENOS AIRES, October 24 (RIA Novosti) - At least three people died in Argentina in a crash involving 12 cars on a highway 700 kilometers northwest of the capital, Buenos Aires, the C5N TV channel reported Saturday.
"An accident involving a dozen cars occurred late on Friday near the city of Cordoba. At least three people died, and 10 injured people were hospitalized," Diego Concha, the head of the local civil defense service, told the channel.
He said the cars collided due to poor visibility caused by heavy rain, strong winds and hail.
Argentina has a population of 40 million and more than 7 million registered vehicles. Over 5,000 people have died on the country's roads since the start of the year.
