France, Britain and Germany have decided to hold a conference on Afghanistan to discuss relations with the country following the elections, a French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Monday.

PARIS, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - France, Britain and Germany have decided to hold a conference on Afghanistan to discuss relations with the country following the elections, a French Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Monday.

Incumbent President Hamid Karzai leads with 47.27% of votes after the August 20 presidential election, according to partial results reported on September 2. A runoff will be held if the winning candidate does not receive more than 50% of the vote.

The Central Election Commission did not release updated figures on Monday, saying it was looking into alleged vote violations.

"We will discuss the expectations of the Afghan authorities and the international community," Christine Fages said, adding that greater efforts to hand over more power to Afghans from the international coalition would also be on the conference agenda.

The official spokeswoman did not say when or where the meeting would take place.
