MOSCOW, May 16 (RIA Novosti) - The World Health Organization on Saturday confirmed 8,451 human cases of A/H1N1 influenza in 36 countries, with 72 deaths.

Sixty six people have died in Mexico, which has reported 2,895 laboratory confirmed human cases of swine flu. The United States has reported 4,714 cases with four fatalities. One person has died in Canada, which has reported 496 cases, and Costa Rica has had one fatality and nine confirmed cases.

The WHO has said there is no risk of infection from the consumption of well-cooked pork and pork products.
