MOSCOW, May 2 (RIA Novosti) - Six people were injured in two separate road accidents on the Moscow ring road on Saturday, a spokesman for the traffic police in the Russian capital said.

At 13:15 Moscow time (09:15 GMT) a motorbike crashed into a car on the outer lane of the ring road bursting into flames. The motorbike's driver was badly hurt and rushed to hospital in a helicopter ambulance.

The helicopter ambulance once again came to the rescue later in the afternoon after a five-vehicle pile up left five people injured.

In all, some ten hospitals in the Russian capital are equipped with helipads while the Moscow administration has over the past 12 years acquired just two helicopter ambulances.

However the team of flying medics completes more than 900 flights a year providing urgent medical assistance to over 500 people.
