MOSCOW, March 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry has sent a plane to Vietnam to bring back home Russian tourists who suffered in a bus crash that killed at least nine people, the ministry said Sunday.

An Il-76 plane is equipped with medical modules and everything necessary to transport those injured, a spokeswoman said.

The ministry said 15 Russians were injured in the crash. There had been a total of 26 people, including 24 Russians and two Vietnamese - the driver and guide, in the bus.

The tour group's Vietnamese guide was also killed when the bus fell down a precipice about 50 kilometers from the tourist city of Dalat as the bus returned from a day trip.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev offered his condolences on Saturday to the families of the Russian tourists involved in the crash.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. local time (12:00 GMT) on Friday.

The Vietnamese driver of the bus was among the injured. The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Similar tragedies involving Russian tour groups occurred last December in Israel and Egypt. On December 16, 2008, 24 Russians died in a bus crash near the Israeli Red Sea resort city of Eilat and six days later another seven Russians died near Dahab on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
