MOSCOW, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - The recently appointed chief of the OSCE's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will pay a visit to Moscow on September 9, a Russian election commission official said on Wednesday.

"We have received confirmation that [Janez] Lenarcic will arrive in Moscow and hold talks at the Foreign Ministry, the Central Election Commission (CEC), and meet with ombudsman Vladimir Lukin," said Igor Borisov.

Slovenian diplomat Lenarcic, who took over as ODIHR director on July 1, is expected to discuss issues concerning the organization's refusal to send its observers to the March 2 Russian presidential elections.

The ODIHR and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly announced a month before the polls that they would not monitor the elections due to restrictions they said had been imposed by Russian authorities.

Dmitry Medvedev won the March 2 presidential elections with a landslide victory and was sworn in on May 7.
