BEIJING, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - Three miners were rescued from a flooded coal mine in north China's Shanxi province early on Monday, with another 10 still trapped underground, the Xinhua news agency said.
The flood occurred late on Saturday while 82 miners were working underground. A total of 69 miners had been rescued by early Sunday.
Eight pumps are being used to lower the flood waters with around 200 people involved in the rescue operation.
The state-owned mine has an annual capacity of 1.2 million metric tons of coal.
The Chinese coal mining industry remains the world's most dangerous sector, with up to 7,000 miners killed annually.
