MOSCOW, June 23 (RIA Novosti) - Seven people died when five cars collided at the Yaroslavskoe highway northeast of Moscow, an emergencies ministry spokesman said on Monday.
The accident happened when two cars collided head on late on Sunday some 23 km (14 miles) from Moscow near a turnoff to the satellite city of Korolev. Three cars then crashed into them and burst into flames killing seven people instantly.
A team of investigators is currently working at the scene.
Moscow's highways are extremely congested on Sundays as many city residents return home from weekend breaks in the countryside.
