MOSCOW, September 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is set to liberalize the freight and passenger transport systems by 50% and 70%, respectively, in 2030, and plans to raise the $540 billion in financing needed through private investors.

The government plans to regulate only infrastructural part of freight tariff, and socially vital passenger transportation, Russia's deputy transportation minister, Alexander Misharin said Thursday.

A total of 12,700 miles of new rail lines in the Far East, Primorye, the eastern Urals and Siberia are to be built over some 20 years, the spokesman said.

The transit traffic flow is expected to triple and average train speed to reach 45 miles per hour, he said.
