MOSCOW, September 24 (RIA Novosti) - The presidents of Russia and Turkmenistan have discussed bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the Kremlin press service said Sunday.
"Both sides expressed satisfaction with the level and rates of cooperation development in the gas and energy field," the press service said.
Vladimir Putin and Saparmurat Niyazov also touched upon the situation in the Caspian region.
"In this connection, both sides stated the necessity of joint constructive work of Caspian states to more successfully promote the process of resolving the key issues of the Caspian's legal status," the Kremlin press service said.
