MOSCOW, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow police rejected media reports Tuesday that gunmen had opened fire on a foreign-made car in the center of the capital in the morning.
Some media reported that two people had been hurt after a Volvo had come under fire on an embankment on the Moskva River near the Kremlin at about 10 a.m. Moscow time (6 a.m. GMT).
"There was no such incident in the city, including on the Kremlevskaya Embankment [Tuesday morning]," police spokesman Viktor Biryukov said.
But Biryukov said a duty police officer had received a call at 9:14 a.m. (5:14 a.m. GMT) that a man had fallen on the embankment from a bridge across the Moskva. The man was taken to hospital and his life is out of danger, he said.
