On July 11, 2006, deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region for construction, energy, utilities and information technologies Valery Limarenko started talks with Friedrich Buchholz, REMONDIS CEO, on setting up a joint venture on waste management (collection, transportation, and recycling of waste).

REMONDIS executives came to Nizhny Novgorod at the invitation of the region's Governor Valery Shantsev.

They reached agreement that in a fortnight German experts will be given technical, economic, and statistical information on waste management in the region, and will visit recycling companies (Pererabotka Bytovykh Otkhodov Nizhnego Novgoroda and Pererabotka Bytovykh Otkhodov). During the same period experts from Nizhny Novgorod will see REMONDIS enterprises in Germany and familiarize themselves with the company's range of services. Upon conclusion of this joint work, REMONDIS will submit its proposals on investment programs for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

After the talks Valery Limarenko said: "REMONDIS is among the world's top five companies in waste management. Its proposals on cooperation are of mutual benefit to both sides. We'll become good partners, and the results of our joint efforts will soon be visible in the streets of Nizhny Novgorod."
