MOSCOW, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's anti-monopoly watchdog imposed Tuesday a fine of 200,000 rubles ($7,500) on the country's leading television channel for interrupting an animated movie with a commercial.

Under the federal law on advertising, television channels are not allowed to show commercials during children's programs.

The Federal Anti-Monopoly Service said the First Channel had broken this provision May 20 when it was broadcasting Disney/Pixar movie Toy Story-2.

The service said it had warned the channel in December last year that it would not be allowed to run commercial during the animated film.
