TBILISI, May 27 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia's Foreign Ministry expressed protest Saturday over alleged violation by Russia of the country's airspace Thursday.

The ministry said a Georgian radar had detected a Russian aircraft entering Georgian airspace in the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict zone at a speed of 200 kmph and at an altitude of 4,500 meters.

The ministry said such actions were becoming regular and urged "reaction from Russia's relevant bodies" saying that it was "gross violation of [Georgia's] sovereignty."

Vladimir Chkhikvishvili, Russia's ambassador to Georgia, said all previous claims by Georgia about Russia allegedly violating the country's airspace had been refuted by Russia's military. "This time, it could be the same," he said.
