MOSCOW, May 9 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin has signed a law On honorary title "City of military glory," the Kremlin's press service said Tuesday.
This law establishes the legal basis for assigning the title of The City of military glory to Russian cities in commemoration of the defenders of the Motherland.
In accordance with the new law, the title could be awarded to Russian cities whose defenders exhibited outstanding feats of valor and mass heroism during fierce battles of the Second World War, including the 12 cities that are bearing the Hero City title.
