"The relations will be excellent, I am absolutely convinced in that," said Viktor Yanukovich, the leader of the country's largest opposition Party of Regions.

KIEV, March 26 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Suprun) - The ex-prime minister of Ukraine said Sunday his country would have good relations with Russia after the Ukrainian parliamentary elections.

"The relations will be excellent, I am absolutely convinced in that," said Viktor Yanukovich, the leader of the country's largest opposition Party of Regions, after casting his ballot at a Kiev polling station.

Yanukovich also said the dissolution of a new parliament was hardly probable.

Speaking about the future of Ukraine after the elections, Yanukovich said Europe would support Ukraine and Ukraine would build mutually advantageous relations with European countries.

Ukrainians are casting ballots Sunday in a parliamentary election, in which the Regions Party is expected to come at the top of the polls, although short of a majority of votes allowing it to form its own government.
