Rosneft head to meet with CNPC president in Beijing

Sergei Bogdanchikov will visit Rosneft's office in the country that is opening soon, meet with the president of China Development Bank and participate in the opening ceremony of the Year of Russia in China on March 20.

MOSCOW, March 17 (RIA Novosti) - The president of Russian state-owned oil company Rosneft will meet with the heads of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and its subsidiary Sinopec in Beijing on March 21, the company said Friday.

During his visit to China, Sergei Bogdanchikov will visit Rosneft's office in the country that is opening soon, meet with the president of China Development Bank and participate in the opening ceremony of the Year of Russia in China on March 20.

On March 22, Bogdanchikov will attend a Russian-Chinese economic forum and an energy session on the sidelines of the forum, chaired by Russian Minister of Industry and Energy Viktor Khristenko and Ma Kai, the head of the Chinese State Reform and Development Commission.

Rosneft was reported to be planning to double its oil supplies to China in 2006. According to preliminary data, the company sold 4.4 million metric tons of oil to China in 2005 via the system of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, which links oilfields in western Kazakhstan with the Russian Black Sea coast.

In July 2005, Rosneft and CNPC signed a long-term cooperation agreement providing for the increase of oil supplies to China on mutually beneficial commercial terms.
