KIEV, January 14 (RIA Novosti) - The registration of candidates to the Ukrainian parliament, the Supreme Rada, was completed Saturday, the chairman of the country's Central Election Commission said.

"The commission registered 7,733 candidates to people's deputies," Yaroslav Davydovych said. "I doubt that this figure will be changed. This is possible only as a result of court rulings."

According to him, the commission considered registration papers of 53 parties and blocs and eight of them were denied registration.

The elections to the Ukrainian single-chamber 450-seat parliament are scheduled for March 26, 2006.

Davydovych added that 7,500 parliament candidates had been registered for the 2002 Rada elections.
