MOSCOW, January 10 (RIA Novosti) - The decision by the Supreme Rada, Ukraine's parliament, to dismiss the government was a "major political error," a senior member of the Federation Council, Russia's upper house of parliament, said Tuesday.
Vadim Gustov, chairman of the council's CIS Affairs Committee, said the authorities in Ukraine would be "virtually paralyzed" by the decision. "Until March [and parliamentary elections], the country will not be governed, and will develop chaotically," Gustov said.
The Ukrainian parliament is "very complicated, and each group has its own interests," Gustov added. "I therefore think that President Viktor Yushchenko will do everything possible to retain the government," he said.
