Below are the main events relating to the Commonwealth of Independent States on December 19:

* Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov arrived in Moscow for energy talks with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Fradkov

* The Russian prime minister proposed concluding an agreement with Belarus on equal taxation terms for contract workers

* The Belarusian prime minister said Russia would provide 21 billion cu m of natural gas to Belarus next year for the price of $46.68 per 1,000 cu m

* The Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy said bird flu quarantine would be imposed this week throughout the Crimea, an autonomy on the Black Sea

* Russian energy giant Gazprom said it was moving away from fixed pricing of its natural gas exports to Ukraine toward a price regime based on world oil prices

* A source in the Russian delegation said Russian and Ukrainian Prime Ministers Mikhail Fradkov and Yuriy Yekhanurov had failed to agree on the conditions of Russian natural gas supplies to and transit via Ukraine at a Moscow meeting

* The National Bank of Ukraine said the country's foreign debt had increased by $2.9 billion during the third quarter of 2005, totaling $36.86 billion on October 1

* Russia's energy official said oil supplies from state-owned Kazakh company KazMunaiGaz to Lithuania were not listed in Russia's oil transit schedule for the first quarter of 2006

* A Russian official said stock market regulating bodies from member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) would draft a final agreement on the exchange of confidential information for investor protection by June 2006
