BRUSSELS, December 8 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's accession to NATO will inevitably affect Russian-Ukrainian cooperation Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.
"It is the sovereign right of any state to choose partners, but Ukraine's decision to join NATO will have certain consequences," Lavrov told journalists.
He said that relations would not be based on ideology and that Russia was interested in developing friendly relations with Ukraine.
