* A Chechen Interior Ministry spokesman said two militants had been killed in the republic's Gudermes district

* Police detained two militants in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district

* A spokesman for the Interior Ministry said a cache with ammunition had been discovered in Chechnya during operational and search activities. The cache was destroyed on site

* Police in the Chechen capital Grozny are looking into the abduction of a local citizen, taken away in a car by some 20 unknown assailants in camouflage uniforms

* Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov said a number of terrorist attacks designed to frustrate parliamentary elections on November 27 had been prevented in the republic

* The Chechen Interior Ministry said two gang ringleaders had been killed and one militant detained in the republic's capital Grozny

* Dmitry Kozak, President Putin's envoy to the South Federal District, held a conference in the Chechen capital Grozny to discuss the republic's security preparedness for the November 27 parliamentary elections
