NEW DELHI, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov held negotiations on security and bilateral cooperation with India's senior foreign ministry and national security officials.
"The talks focused on global and regional security, nuclear nonproliferation, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, the situation in the Central Asian republics and its impact on regional security," the Russian Embassy in India said in a news release Saturday.
Ivanov had talks with India's Foreign Minister Natwar Singh and a security adviser to the Indian prime minister.
"The sides appraised prospects for interaction within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as India was recently granted observer status in this international organization," the news release said.
