MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik met Thursday in the Russian capital to discuss new Russian-EU cooperation due to begin in 2007.
"We have a shared understanding of how to move our work forward and how to develop all areas of partnership dialogue between Russia and the EU," Lavrov said.
Lavrov and Plassnik discussed forthcoming meetings between the countries' leaders and Russian-Austrian cooperation within international organizations like the United Nations, the Council of Europe, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
Austria assumes the EU presidency in January 2006.
