ASTANA, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev will be given a test on the Kazakh language Wednesday, the Kazakh Central Election Commission said Tuesday.
According to the Kazakh constitution, presidential candidates should speak the state Kazakh language fluently and candidates must take the exam before a special commission.
The exam consists of a script, answers to questions and a 15-minute speech in Kazakh.
Besides Nazarbayev, senator Ualikhan Kaisarov and united opposition leader Zharmakhan Tuyakbai submitted documents to the election commission to become candidates.
Presidential elections will be held in Kazakhstan on Dec. 4.
