TEL AVIV, September 11 (RIA Novosti's Ratmir Orestov) - The withdrawal of Israeli security forces from the Gaza Strip shall be completed Monday morning, Cabinet spokespeople said.
At its weekly session Sunday, the Ariel Sharon Cabinet voted in favor of withdrawing all the remaining military hardware and personnel from the area within one day, including the Philadelphia Axis, which separates southern Gaza from Egypt.
The pullout, to begin Sunday night and end at 8:00 local time (5:00 GMT) the next morning, will put an end to Israel's 38-year occupation of the Gaza Strip.
There are still some 3,000 Israeli troops staying in Gaza. They demolished all of their local military bases Saturday, except for the Gaza division's HQ, which is to be handed over to Palestinian security forces.
