MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - Kyrgyzstan intends to support Russia's initiatives on the post-Soviet territory, Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev said Monday.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy will be aimed at promoting integration processes within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The former Soviet republic also intends to fulfill its obligations within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Eurasian Economic Community, he said.

Bakiyev confirmed his country's intentions to reinvigorate economic cooperation with Russia. He said his meetings in Moscow symbolize Kyrgyz readiness for closer and effective cooperation in the economic sphere.

He said there are good possibilities for Russian investors in Kyrgyzstan.

"Kyrgyzstan has water-energy resources, gold deposits and agricultural lands," Bakiyev said.

However, the president said the two remaining problems in the country are the low level of living standards and the high level of corruption.
