MAKHACHKALA, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - Three policemen were killed and one wounded in the Saturday blast near a banquet hall in downtown Makhachkala, the capital of Daghestan (Southern Russia), police said.Two policemen were killed at once and the third one died in hospital.
A police patrol was walking on Shamil prospekt when a remote-controlled explosive device detonated. The type and power of the device have not been determined yet.
Other details of the explosion are still unknown.
Some ambulance teams are working at the site of the blast.
