MINSK, August 2 (RIA Novosti) - The Belarusian Republican Youth Union, a pro-government youth organization, gathered Tuesday in front of the Polish Embassy in Minsk.
A group of about 50 held flags and signs with slogans calling for friendship. The young people blamed Poland for worsening bilateral relations.
The recent decline in Belarusian-Polish relations is due to the situation concerning the Union of Poles. The Belarusian government did not acknowledge the session that elected the new leadership of the organization. The government's pressure on the union provoked Warsaw's criticism of Minsk.
This April, when delivering the State of the Nation Address, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko accused Poland of instigating a velvet revolution in Belarus. Poland and Belarus each expelled three diplomats in May-July of this year.
