ST. PETERSBURG, June 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will continue improving the investment climate, President Vladimir Putin said at the Saturday meeting with U.S. businessmen."We are planning tax stimulation of investments and elimination of excessive administrative measures during tax inspections," he said. "These decisions will be implemented."
According to Putin, investors may be interested in Russia's plans to set up hi-tech economic zones with special tax regulations.
Russia will continue reforms, consolidate the judicial system and banking system and upgrade the system of property rights, the president said.
The Unites States ranks third in the amount of accumulated direct investments in Russia and sixth in the total volume of investments, he said.
Both sides cannot be satisfied with it, he added.
Russia and the U.S. have good cooperation prospects in the hi-tech sphere.
"For instance, Boeing is involved in the Russian Regional Jet project while Russian designers and engineers work on the Boeing-787 project," Putin said.
The innovation council for high technologies was established on the joint Bush-Putin initiative, he added. The businessmen who attended the today's meeting will hopefully join its activities, the president said.
