MOSCOW, May 7 (RIA Novosti) - Tony Blair expressed his deepest regret for not being able to come to Moscow for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory because intensive work on forming the new Cabinet would not allow him to do so.

The Kremlin press service announced Tony Blair informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about his inability to come to Moscow in a telephone conversation.

Vladimir Putin accepted the apology with understanding. He passed warm birthday wishes to Tony Blair and congratulations in connection with the victory of his Labor Party during parliamentary elections.

During the phone conversation, Vladimir Putin and Tony Blair discussed the schedule of future contacts before the G8 summit in Great Britain in July 2005.
