MOSCOW, May 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Orthodox believers on the Radiant Resurrection of Christ."I am sending my sincere greetings to all Orthodox believers, all Russian citizens who celebrate the Radiant Resurrection of Christ," says the message disseminated by the Russian President's press service."Easter has become a national holiday widely celebrated throughout the whole Russia. On that joyful spring day, I would like to acknowledge an increasing positive influence of Russian Orthodox Church and other traditional Christian denominations on the improvement of moral and spiritual climate in the Russian society, education of the young generation, solution of urgent issues in the cultural and educational spheres," the message says.
"Russian Christian conduct fruitful activities in the sphere of education and implementation of social programs, and make significant contribution into the strengthening of good-neighborliness and mutual care. These activities deserve deep respect and support," Vladimir Putin believes.
"From the depth of my soul, I wish you, my fellow citizens, happiness, peace and prosperity," the greeting message says.
