DAMASCUS, MARCH 1, (RIA Novosti's Margarita Kislova) - The Expo-Russia-2005 international display is to open March 1 in Amman, the capital of Jordan. About 70 state-run and private companies from all Russian regions would be expected to attend this exhibition.

The exhibition's organizers hope that, by participating in this exhibition, Russian businessmen will manage to establish contacts with representatives of Jordanian and Iraqi business communities.

Russian producers intend to show off their achievements in such fields as energy, oil-and-gas production, transportation, construction, health care, pharmacology and state-of-the-art information technologies.

The exhibition's organizers and participants hope that Iraq will become interested in its goods, equipment and technologies, and that it will heed the relevant long-term experience of Russian-Iraqi cooperation.

Iraqi businessmen and state officials, who have been invited to attend the Expo-Russia-2005 display, will acquaint themselves with special concepts that can facilitate the war-torn Iraqi economy's fast-paced recovery.

A conference dealing with current Russian-Jordanian-Iraqi economic cooperation will take place during this exhibition.

The exhibition will last until March 3.
