KIEV, December 28 (RIA Novosti) - The new Viktor Yushchenko government will have to deal with unpleasant economic trends inherited from the Yanukovich cabinet, said Pyotr Poroshenko, the deputy chief of Yushchenko's election HQ and a person from the president-elect's entourage.

"The main issue we will have to face will be the legacy of the outgoing authorities. We will have to clean out Augean stables," Poroshenko said at a press conference.

The politician who said he might head the government on the night after the elections arrived at the press center from a session of the coalition council, which discussed the principles of forming the government of national unity.

"The Yushchenko team has several decent candidates to the post of prime minister. The main criteria will not be the political force they belong to but their honesty and professionalism," said Poroshenko.

In his words, the Yushchenko team is currently negotiating ways of implementing the economic program, but not candidates and portfolios, with its supporters on the coalition.

Poroshenko believes the main economic obstacle to be the exhausted potential of economic growth and the increasing rate of inflation.

Poroshenko also noted that the Ukrainian budget would be reviewed.

"In February, the budget policy of the new authorities is to be presented," he said. According to him, the line-up of the new government may be announced only after Yushchenko's inauguration.
