MOSCOW, July 15 (RIA Novosti) - In late November Moscow will host the 2nd Niccolo Paganini violin contest.

"This prominent event will gather both talented musicians and classic music fans," chairman of the contest's international jury, well-known violinist and conductor Sergei Stadler told RIA Novosti.

According to him, Moscow remains "one of the world's violin capitals and violin is still highly popular in Russia".

The jury will comprise outstanding Russian musicians Eduard Grach, Maxim Fedotov and Alexander Rudin, who assessed the participants' talents last year, Mr. Stadler reported.

The Moscow Paganini violin contest is organized by the violin art foundation, the Moscow Conservatory, the Russian Culture Ministry and Moscow government. Talented violinists over 14 can participate in the contests. Laureates are awarded with prizes established by the violin art foundation.

The contest program implies compulsory performance of Paganini's compositions.
