MOSCOW, May 13 (RIA Novosti) - Israeli telecommunication companies will participate in the realisation of the federal target programme Electronic Russia, Uri Olenik, general director of the Israeli Communication Ministry, told the Wednesday news conference.

The leading Israeli companies will be involved in projects like TV medicine and satellite communication, he said.

"Close and friendly relations" have been established between Russia and Israel. "I'm sure we can now call it close cooperation between the two countries," Mr. Olenik said.

A telecommunication exhibition will be held in Israel on November 8 through 11, like the Communication Expocomm-2004 now under way in Moscow. The world communication leaders will take part in the Israeli exhibition, he continued. "We are sure that a large Russian delegation will visit our exhibition. We have invited large Russian operators," he said.

Uri Oleinik hopes that the Russian delegation will be led by Leonid Reiman, first deputy minister of transport and communication and also the co-chairman of the mixed Russo-Israeli commission for trade-economic cooperation. The main area for broadening Russo-Israeli cooperation is the telecommunication and information technology market. Russian companies are showing interest in Israel's innovative projects, including in developing the GSM, CDMA and TETRA technologies.

As regards the Russian communication market, Uri Olenik said: "Seeing the high level of development of telecommunications in Russia, I've understood that everybody in the world should know the Russian language".
