PUTIN APPROVES SECURITY COUNCIL'S STAFF

MOSCOW, April 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the staff of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Kremlin press service said on Saturday.

According to the decree, the Russian President is the chairman of the Security Council. Its permanent members are State Duma and Federation Council Speakers Boris Gryzlov and Sergei Mironov, Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Lebedev, President's Chief of Staff Dmitry Medvedev, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Nikolai Patrushev and Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov.

Members of the Security Council are Russian President's Authorized Representatives to the Siberian, Volga, Northwestern, Ural, Central, Far-Eastern and Southern Federal Districts Leonid Drachevsky, Sergei Kiriyenko, Ilya Klebanov, Pyotr Latyshev, Georgy Poltavchenko, Konstantin Pulikovsky, and Vladimir Yakovlev, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Kvashnin, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Osipov, Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov, Justice Minister Yuri Chaika and Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu.

This decree makes all other decrees concerning the Security Council's staff signed by the President null and void.

The decree comes into effect from the moment of its signing.
