MOSCOW, April 24 (RIA Novosti's Natalia Kurova) - The opera "Fiery Angel" by the great Russian composer Sergei Prokofyev will premiere in the Bolshoi Theatre on Saturday night.
According to the theatre's music director and conductor of the performance Alexander Vedernikov, this creation "is a musical masterpiece, a most complicated opera, which can be staged in a few theatres".
"Fiery Angel" is staged by two outstanding figures of the opera world, director Francesca Zambello and scenographer Georgy Tsypin. This is their second work in the Bolshoi. Formerly they staged Puccini's "Turandot".
Invited singers are starring in the performance: Oksana Krovitskaya, Tatiana Smirnova, a soloist of the New Opera Theatre (Moscow), famous singer Valery Alekseyev and Viktor Mityushkin from the Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre.
