YALTA (Ukraine), April 23 (RIA Novosti) - At their today's meeting in the Crimea, Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Leonid Kuchma will not discuss the Russian language broadcasting on Ukrainian TV channels, a source in the Russian delegation told RIA Novosti.

"The presidents do not need to raise this issue because Mr. Kuchma made his position clear yesterday, and it is enough," said the source.

He said that the talks would consider economic cooperation, and interaction within the single economic space of the four countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan).

Besides, the source said that Mr. Putin would brief Mr. Kuchma on his meetings with the French president, the German chancellor, the Italian prime minister and the EU leadership.

The sides will also exchange opinions on the situation in Iraq and the development of Russia-Ukraine regional cooperation.

Besides, the source said, the meeting will highlight parliamentary ties and the role of Russian and Ukrainian public organizations in bilateral relations.

The Ukrainian National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting approved recommendations for the national and interregional channels on April 14. According to this document, national TV channels are bound to broadcast programmes only in the Ukrainian language.

The Ukrainian president described these recommendations as violating the constitution. "This decision does not correspond to the Ukrainian constitution," Mr. Kuchma said in Bakhchisarai (Crimea) on Thursday. In his words, the decision should be brought in line with the current constitution. "I am sure that it will be so," he concluded.
