MINSK, April 14 (RIA Novosti)-Belarus will adhere to all its agreements with Russia, Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, said on Wednesday during his Address to the National Assembly and the Belarussian people.
"Belarus will follow spirit and the letter of the contracts signed with Russia," he said. "We are against amendments that emasculate the maintenance of agreements already in force and make the union similar to the CIS." Mr. Lukashenko said, "the Russian ruble will become uniform means of payment for all public goods and it will be in the interests of Belarus and Russia."
"And if our ally can stop looking at us through the sight of a gas pipe, we will be able to find a solution to all of our problems," he said.
