MINSK, 14 April (RIA Novosti)-Alexander Lukashenko has announced that Belarus is ready to transfer some of its powers to the structure that will guarantee the operation of the Common Economic Space.

"Our country is ready for the most serious decision on transferring powers to the structure that will guarantee the operation of the Common Economic Space," he said while making a traditional address to the National Assembly and the Belarussian people. "This project will be successful if all the members of the 'quartet' follow the European Union's example and recognize the single set of rules in economic relations." Lukashenko also stressed in his address that Belarus had to have good relations with the EU.

The Common Economic Space includes Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
