MOSCOW, April 5, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow has received NATO's assertions that the four new NATO members will join the CFE Treaty.
The NATO Secretary General and also the four countries at issue have confirmed their intention of joining the CFE Treaty, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a traditional conference between the president and the cabinet.
"According to the NATO secretary general, CFE non-parties will join the treaty once it takes effect. Ministers of the four countries have made clear and unambiguous statements to the effect," said Mr. Lavrov.
