TBILISI, MARCH 19 (RIA Novosti) - The Council of Europe mission in Georgia has come up with a denial regarding media reports, referring to the Georgian television channels, on Plamen Nikolov, special envoy of the CE secretary general in Georgia, not being passed by a group of armed men on a checkpoint near the Choloki river (the administrative border of the Adzharian autonomy).

It was also said that Nikolov had to fly to Tbilisi vie Turkey.

The CE mission told a Novosti-Georgia news agency correspondent that Plamen Nikolov is now in Batumi and did not intend to go to Tbilisi because he is busy arranging work of the CE group of representatives monitoring the situation in the autonomy shortly before the elections to the Georgian parliament, due on March 28.

The CE mission noted that Plamen Nikolov will stay in Batumi for another several days.
