BISHKEK, March16, 2004. (RIA Novosti correspondent Yuliya Orlova) - Rescuers from Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Ecology and Emergency Situations found a helicopter that made an emergency landing in the mountains on March 15th.

The ministry's press secretary, Emil Akmatov, reported that no passengers or crew members on board of the helicopter were injured.

The rescuers reached the landing site and measures are being taken to evacuate the people.

The helicopter was attempting to save a group of hunters, who were in snow captivity in the high mountainous At-Bashinsky district of the Narynsky region of Kyrgyzstan (on the border with China), when a technical malfunction forced the helicopter to make an emergency landing in the mountains. After the landing, connection with the helicopter was lost.

Apart from the local residents, two Americans and one Canadian were on board of the helicopter. They were hunting in the area. (The hunting season began in the republic on March 1.)
