MOSCOW, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) - Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliyev warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory in the presidential elections on Monday, the Kremlin press service said.
A telephone conversation between the two leaders was held on the Azeri initiative. "Azerbaijan had no doubts in Russia's choice," Aliyev stressed.
The Presidents pointed out the strategic importance of Russian-Azeri relations and expressed confidence in their further progress.
