KIEV, March 15, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma congratulated Vladimir Putin on the convincing victory in the presidential elections.
The Ukrainian leader expressed confidence in further development of Russo-Ukrainian bilateral relations, Mr. Kuchma's press secretary Alyona Gromnitskaya told journalists on Monday.
According to speaker of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada Vladimir Litvin, Mr. Putin's victory was predictable and shows Russia's confidence in its leader.
In his words, the results of Sunday elections prove that Russians support their President and his policy.
