PARIS, MARCH 14 (RIA Novosti corespondent Andrei Nizamutdinov) - Tensions are building up round Adzharia, autonomy in Georgia, to badly alarm Walter Schwimmer, Council of Europe Secretary General, say reports from the CE headquarters in Strasbourg.

In today's statement, Mr. Schwimmer expressed concern with mounting Georgian-Adzhar tensions, and called Presidents Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia and Aslan Abashidze of Adzharia to switch from verbal war to a genuine dialogue. He appealed to Georgia as a CE country to follow democratic patterns.

The Council of Europe is willing to forward its top-notch experts to help Adzharia with establishing lawful, reasonable and efficient bases of autonomy, he reassured.
