MOSCOW, 14 March, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent/ --Adzharian leader Aslan Abashidze (Adzharia is an autonomous republic within Georgia) has no intention to ask for political asylum in Russia. He flatly denied all reports on this account at a press conference held in Moscow.
"Such an idea could occur only to a coward. How can I leave my people in a crisis like this? I cannot discuss this issue with you in earnest," Abashidze said.
"My son is the mayor of Batumi, and he is there right now," the Adzharian leader added.
